OPERATION
CURRENT STATUS
PKDC first importation of avgas was in late FY2009 from Total in France followed by a large importation in FY2010 from Philips 66 in the states. The wholesale operation began in Subic, Clark and the General Aviation area (NAIA) by adding a storage tank facility in Subic in order to service companies operating small planes in the commercial aviation business. Our customer base expanded to include flying schools in the Plaridel area in addition to Binalonan and La Union later in the year.
LONG TERM PLAN
PKDC will expand the base of operations to include a storage depot for avgas and refined product in order to establish a consistent / market price import supply of product. This supply importation will then be utilized to sell to wholesale customers in the domestic Philippines. The avgas supply will provide increased competition to the domestic market and a alternative to the current market.
The current avgas distribution system in the Philippines is inadequate to meet the demand potential and poses a risk to customers which utilize ?drum based? storage for their product requirements. PKDC proposes that small depots be constructed at provincial and commercial airports to provide safe storage of avgas and into plane refuellers be utilized in all deliveries of product into plane.
The avgas depots will provide a safe low risk storage facility for avgas in the near term which should support further expansion of the small fixed wing aviation business in the Philippines.
